Intelligent Design ruling heartens science teachers, others

A federal judge's sweeping ruling yesterday on Intelligent Design bolstered science teachers who increasingly had to defend evolution against advocates of alternative theories. While the ruling is technically not binding beyond the central Pennsylvania district where it was issued, observers say it will force other school systems considering similar curricular changes to think twice.
