Ohio adds new rigor to high school standards

The Ohio Legislature on Wednesday approved a new core curriculum, among the toughest in the nation, that will require all students to take four years of math and three years of lab-based sciences, starting with the Class of 2014. Gov. Bob Taft says the changes will prepare students for college or work, but some school districts wonder how they'll pay for the new standards.
