American Apparel buys YouTube niche inventory

Those who enjoy videos of skateboarding dogs on YouTube will now be invited to purchase American Apparel dog attire at the same time, thanks to a targeting effort by the clothing company. YouTube hopes that more marketers will follow American Apparel in buying long-tail inventory to tap niche ad markets. "There is a perfect ad for every video," Google's Shishir Mehrotra said.
