Climate agreement could strengthen Obama's hand with Senate

The climate-change agreement worked out in Copenhagen might give President Barack Obama the argument he needs to overcome objections in the Senate regarding greenhouse-gas restrictions. The deal between the U.S., China and India marks the first time that China and India have agreed to accept concrete limits on carbon emissions. "The agreement helps us politically deal with the concerns that we would be putting American manufacturers at a disadvantage," said Sen. Benjamin Cardin, D-Md.
