Foundation offers grants to assess Marcellus drilling

The Colcom Foundation is prepared to offer nonprofit groups $1 million in grants to study natural gas drilling in the Marcellus Shale and give companies advice on being environmentally responsible. "The foundation would like to see a higher sense of trustworthiness and integrity" as development expands, said John Rohe, vice president of philanthropy for the foundation. "This is not designed to be anti-drilling," he added.
