Topeka Zoo addresses USDA charges

The USDA alleges that the Topeka Zoo knowingly violated the Animal Welfare Act in multiple instances including improper enclosures, inadequate monitoring and housing, and insufficient veterinary care. The zoo, which was under different leadership at the time of the alleged problems, maintains that the new director welcomes the USDA's guidance in their attempts to address any shortcomings.
