Buoyed by conversion success, e-retailers plan content push

Online retailers set a preseason goal of improving conversions and attracting more buyers to their sites, and their efforts have paid off, according to eMarketer. E-commerce sales for Nov. 1 through Nov. 26 increased an average of 16% from the same period in 2011, including 32% on Thanksgiving and 28% on Black Friday. Looking forward, between one-quarter and one-third of e-retailers plan to add content such as tweets, articles, press releases and blog posts to their efforts, according to SLI Systems.
