Hulu could abandon ad-supported business model

Disney and News Corp. are reportedly at odds over Hulu's future, with News Corp. eager to see the video site transform into a subscription service, while Disney is pushing for the site to double down on its free-to-view, ad-supported business model. Hulu's content acquisition efforts are trailing rivals such as Netflix and Amazon, and the site has estimated quarterly operating losses of around $30 million.
