Wis. math curriculum gets real-world makeover

Students in Wisconsin schools are being challenged to learn math and reading through the lens of real-world applications as the state takes steps to align curriculum with the Common Core State Standards. Some math students are learning to calculate proportion by watching a video of a building demolition and then using multiple factors to determine the distance between the cameras and the building.
