Pressure on middlemen to stop cutting secret drug deals

Pharmacy benefit managers are under increasing pressure from government, big employers and some drug makers to end secret deals with pharmaceutical companies that sometimes favor expensive drugs over cheaper generics. The call for more transparency will grow louder if the companies manage the new Medicare drug benefit, one Medicare expert said.
