Study: Epilepsy drug also controls MS symptoms

A published study indicates an epilepsy drug also can be used to control spasms and cramps associated with multiple sclerosis. Doctors in Dallas found that levetiracetam was effective in all 11 patients they studied. The drug also lessened nerve pain and improved patients' moods, thereby allowing them to stop taking painkillers and antidepressants.
