Frito-Lay benches Super Bowl ads

Pepsico's Frito-Lay will pass on advertising during the Super Bowl this year, according to the company's chief executive, Irene Rosenfeld. The snack food giant plans a January launch for ad campaigns touting new products including Cheddar and Sour Cream Baked Lay's potato chips. Super Bowl spots reportedly cost $2.4 million per 30-second slot.
