Tampa Bay desalination plant finally passes go

The Tampa Bay Seawater Desalination Plant at Apollo Beach, Fla., has successfully completed an acceptance test to become part of the city's water system. The plant, which has faced three years of delays due to failed tests and controversies, passed the test by producing 25 million gallons of fresh water a day for a week and 28 million gallons a week later.
