James Dimon of JPMorgan Chase, Kenneth Lewis of Bank of America and Anne Mulcahy of Xerox were among the CEOS called out by four management professors for their (relatively) successful leadership this year. The nominees are among "the best of the bleak, but no spectacular performer," said Michael Useem, a management professor at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. "This is the year from hell, and anybody who kept their head above water and managed to keep the company from dramatically dropping off a cliff deserves applause and accolades."
