Report: Government fails in supporting successful IT push

Two researchers have reported to HHS that the government's push for health care IT has not been a wide success, based on a 1.7% hospital adoption rate of comprehensive electronic health records systems and only a 12% adoption rate of basic EHRs. HHS also was criticized for not coming up with a privacy policy to support EHR implementation and HIPAA standards.
