Teen-clothing chains weather downturn well

Young-adult chains such as Hot Topic, Buckle and American Apparel are surprising winners in the tough retail climate. Analysts are no longer relying only on same-store sales figures to determine who will weather the downturn, but also are taking into account a company's real-estate holdings, sales per square foot, overhead costs, debt and how long it keeps managers.
