Arizona city to bring green waste to community parks

A pilot program launched in Tempe, Ariz., will compost and reuse residents' green waste in community gardens and parks. The recycling program is expected to save the city $43,000 in landfill costs, officials say. The program, which will be launched in four neighborhoods, could have the added benefit of reducing the need for pesticides in city parks.
