Arris, equity firms said to eye Motorola units

Motorola's wireless-networking and set-top-box unit has reportedly attracted interest from Arris Group and several private-equity firms including Bain, TPG, Blackstone, Silver Lake and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts. Motorola, which had set last Wednesday as the deadline for bids, hopes to gross about $4.5 billion from the sale, according to various published reports.
