Cities post mixed results on nonresidential contracts

The value of future construction contracts on nonresidential property in the Dallas-Fort Worth area declined to $297.2 million in November. That's down 35% from November 2008, according to a McGraw-Hill Construction report. Meanwhile, in Birmingham, Ala., contracts for future commercial construction were up 97% in November from year-ago levels. However, contracts throughout the state declined 1%, the report said.
