Coating could use infrared light to bond infrastructure

A grant provided by the Department of Commerce's National Institute of Standards and Technology is funding the development of an anti-corrosion coating. MesoCoat, Polythermics and the Edison Materials Technology Center are developing ways to use infrared light to bond nanomaterials to steel. The coating could eventually replace hazardous chemicals now used to bind infrastructure, according to this blog post.
