Google executive speaks out on open-source software

A memo that Google's senior vice president of product management, Jonathan Rosenberg, sent to staff and then posted on Google's blog outlines the Web giant's position on open-source software. "Open systems win," Rosenberg writes, because they're as good for Google as they are for competitors and consumers. "Our commitment to open systems is not altruistic," he concludes.
