Tread carefully when you answer inappropriate questions

Interviewers may ask you inappropriate questions -- such as about your family life -- when they're just trying to make small talk or find out more about your work ethic, Alison Green writes. "Figure out what the interviewer is getting at with the question, and answer that instead. So, if you think they're concerned that parenthood will get in the way of your job performance, speak directly to that," she writes.
