British firm brings industrial gas detectors into the home

British company Peerless Gas Controls has developed a system that brings the gas detectors used in mines into the home, creating a network of gas, carbon monoxide and propane detectors capable of automatically shutting off the supply in the event of a leak. The system is already on sale in Ireland, and there are plans to expand to 52 countries. "Our new system comes down to one thing, and that's to save lives," says Peerless owner Steve Crutchley.
