From Australia, a warning against cosmetic surgery tourism

Botched procedures received abroad are sending more Australians to plastic surgeons for corrections, but some patients are permanently disfigured. Many cheap packages skimp on post-operative care, putting patients at risk, says Professor Rodney Cooter, president of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons. "Any kind of major surgery, cosmetic or otherwise, requires a high level of postoperative care. That means rest and healing time to reduce the risk of complications," he said.
