Chefs choose local foods for health, nutrition

Diners whose New Year's resolutions involved making healthy choices will no doubt be in search of nutritious options in the coming year. San Diego-area chefs suggest choosing local foods and natural ingredients. "Greens and other produce that are grown locally have the highest health contents, because they're fresher, having traveled less to get to your plate and, subsequently, into your mouth," said Jeff Rossman, owner of Terra American Bistro.
