European court upholds EU emissions-trading scheme

The European Court of Justice has upheld the EU emissions-trading scheme, but U.S. airlines plan to continue challenging the plan. "The directive including aviation activities in the EU's emissions-trading scheme is valid," Europe's highest court said in a statement. The scheme takes effect Jan. 1 for all airlines flying into Europe.
