Experts find link between gene expression, obesity

Obese participants showed higher levels of GPR55 expression in visceral adipose tissue, especially those with type 2 diabetes, compared with their nonobese counterparts, a study in Diabetes found. Researchers said GPR55 levels were also associated with body mass index, weight and percent of fat mass, particularly among women. Increased circulating L-a-lysophosphatidylinositol rates were also linked to obesity indicators in women.
