NYC plans to invest $2.1B to repair leaks in the Delaware Aqueduct

New York City's Department of Environmental Protection has launched a Draft Environmental Impact Statement that includes details of a $2.1 billion plan to repair leaks in the Delaware Aqueduct, one of the tunnels that provides drinking water to the city. The plan calls for building a 2.5-mile tunnel around the leaking part of the aqueduct in 2013, which will be completed by 2021.
