Teacher-education program features full-year residency

A new teacher-education model at the University of South Dakota features a full-year teaching residency for some candidates. Funded in part by a $4 million grant, the program aims to better prepare students for the demands of a full year in the classroom. "I can't emphasize how wonderful this experience has been," teacher candidate Cassie Zomer said. "Everything that you never learn in a college classroom, you learn here. And the collaborating ... is huge."
