Third-quarter growth rate was 1.8%

The Commerce Department's Bureau of Economic Analysis has revised the economic growth figure for the third quarter to an annual rate of 1.8%. The government initially estimated the rate to be about 2.5%, while economists had expected growth of about 2%. However, while this signifies "sluggish" growth, the rate remains faster than the second-quarter growth rate of 1.3%.
