Sealants help maintain the coating of concrete roof tiles

The color of "slurry coated" roof tiles can be maintained by applying sealants to them, according to Michelle Alberson from Alberson's Tile Roof Glaze in Tampa, Fla. The absence of a sealant on a roof with dark brown and yellow concrete tiles caused the colors to fade after they were cleaned by a company that may have used too much pressure. The colors of the concrete tile roof are bound to fade from sunlight exposure if it has no sealant, and the cleaning service may have accelerated the process, Alberson said.
