Kentucky construction site thefts may be blamed on Iraq war, some suggest

Problems with theft of construction equipment in Lexington, Ky., are being called the worst in decades and have become so serious that some builders are hiring security guards at their job sites. Some speculate the thefts could have a tie to the war in Iraq, as the shipment of wood overseas to help rebuild that country has prompted increases in lumber in the U.S. by as much as 100%.
