Malaysian schools to follow new Islamic curriculum

To discourage Muslims from sending their children to private madrasahs, where they could be exposed to religious extremism, public schools in Malaysia will begin teaching the Quran and Arabic language to Muslim students, beginning next year. In addition, all madrasahs will have to register with the Ministry of Education and follow a standard curriculum.
