State imposes gift ban for Massachusetts mothers

Families who have babies in Massachusetts hospitals will no longer be offered free diaper bags with formula and other gifts because of a state initiative to encourage breast-feeding, sparking a mixed response from mothers and the health care community. "I don't think they're respecting the decisions of women and the decisions of health care professionals," said a spokeswoman for Mead Johnson & Co., and some mothers raised concerns about the difficulties some women have with breast-feeding.
