3-D printer can produce synthetic blood vessels for bypass surgery

Organovo has partnered with Invetech to develop a 3-D medical printer that can produce synthetic blood vessels that can be transplanted during coronary bypass surgery. The system, which uses a robot to accurately place cells in 3-D pattern, might be used to produce tissues and organs for transplants.
