Can cash prizes unlock creativity?

An increasing number of entrepreneurs are unlocking their workforce's creative streak by offering employees cash incentives for innovative ideas. Jared Heyman, who runs an Atlanta market-research firm, says the $600 he pays out in prizes each year is more than worth it. "The program has paid for itself a thousand times over," he says. "In terms of cost savings, revenue enhancement and efficiencies, it's certainly in the six-figure range."
