Multichannel effort helps Nordstrom survive downturn

Nordstrom seems to be emerging from the economic downturn more quickly than many of its rivals. One tactic that has helped the retailer is its multichannel attack. Nordstrom launched a "buy online, pick up in stores" feature in 2008 and plans to roll out its e-commerce operation to 30 more countries.
