NCTA shares stand-alone CableCard figures with the FCC

The top 10 cable providers, which have distributed more than 25 million CableCard-enabled set-top boxes since July 2007, have deployed just 536,000 standalone CableCards so far, according to the NCTA in a filing with the Federal Communications Commission. The NCTA believes that the integrated set-top ban should be eliminated in light of the fact that the FCC is considering adoption of an AllVid requirement that would supersede CableCards.
