Clean energy boom holds opportunity for entrepreneurs

The idea for the company Johnny Thomas and John Francis built began when they couldn't find a single energy-efficiency business that offered comprehensive upgrade services for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration. Today the multimillion-dollar holding company they have built out of Henderson, Nev., called Blue Earth earned $11 million in revenue in 2012 and expects to earn $100 million in 2013 as the clean-tech industry booms.
