DOT will audit control-tower staffing

The inspector general of the Department of Transportation will begin an audit next month of staffing at control towers across the U.S. to examine what seems to be a larger workforce in a smaller, more efficient industry. The review will be done at the request of Reps. John Mica, R-Fla., and Thomas Petri, R-Wis.
