HHS allows hospital to offer docs, practices e-interface access

The HHS Office of Inspector General has allowed an unnamed hospital in an underserved community to offer health practices and doctors in the area free access to an interface linking their EHR systems. The interface will enable providers to receive laboratory and diagnostic test results as well as transmit orders easily.
