Medicare announces hospital quality payments

Medicare announced that 1,557 hospitals will receive higher compensation for quality scores under the Hospital Value-Based Purchasing Program, while 1,427 others will see lower payments. Broken down by state, hospitals in Maine, Nebraska, South Dakota, Utah and South Carolina demonstrated the best performance, while those in Connecticut, Delaware, New York, Wyoming and Washington, D.C., fared worse.
