Report: Chemicals in building products promote energy efficiency

A report issued by the International Council of Chemical Associations concludes that energy-efficiency savings from building products that use chemicals in U.S. residential structures exceed the energy expended in production by 46-fold. "The ICCA projections reinforce what we have known for long time -- that the chemical industry is an indispensable provider of solutions that improve the energy efficiency of buildings," said American Chemistry Council President and CEO Cal Dooley. "Nearly every energy-efficient technology is dependent on innovations made possible by chemistry."
