Tea, which follows only water as the world's most popular beverage, had a renaissance in 2013, with Unilever's Winfried Hopf proclaiming teas as the "hottest beverage" in global drinks. Tea's health benefits have become more widely known and research has linked the beverage to reduced risk of heart disease, certain types of cancer and type 2 diabetes as well as providing benefits for weight loss, improving bone health and cognitive function.
