Australia, Brazil added to Twitter crisis-alert system

Twitter has introduced its crisis alerts in Australia and Brazil and has upgraded the service with easier subscriptions. The system, which was already live in five countries, is designed to keep opted-in users updated with information from the government and credible private institutions as crisis situations develop. It was created in the aftermath of a tsunami in Japan.
