Bill would provide paid time off for family emergencies

The Family and Medical Leave Act allows workers to take time off to deal with health issues in their families, but the law only applies to businesses with at least 50 employees. However, proposed legislation would provide such leave for all workers and would allow them to collect a portion of their paychecks while they are away.
