Chinese language school aims for more comprehensive approach

The Tianjin Foreign Languages School, one of the first foreign language schools in China, is changing its focus to help students acquire more comprehensive skills. Educators want students to look beyond obtaining language proficiency to set broader goals, such as cultural competency, as well. "It's more important to boost creative and innovative thinking, so that students can better adapt to the global community whatever their future major and career is," Diao Yajun, principal of the school, said.
