EPA may try again next year to require companies to reassert CBI claims

The Environmental Protection Agency plans to try again next year to tighten requirements for confidential business information claims under the Toxic Substances Control Act. Companies could be required to reassert and periodically resubstantiate their CBI claims related to health and safety studies, according to Chemical Watch. Meanwhile, the EPA has revealed that chemical manufacturers made far fewer CBI claims in 2010 than it previously thought, Bloomberg BNA notes.
