Final revision raises U.S. GDP growth rate in Q3 to 4.1%

The U.S. economy grew at an annual rate of 4.1% in the third quarter despite the setback from the federal government's shutdown, the Commerce Department said Friday. The figure is considerably better than the department's initial estimate of 2.8%. A buildup of business inventory was a major factor in the expansion, although exports and consumer spending also increased, the agency said.
