Massachusetts Blue Cross ACO model yields improvements in pediatric care quality

The Alternative Quality Contract, the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts' version of an accountable care organization, had a small but substantial impact on the quality of pediatric care, researchers said. For children with chronic conditions, scores in care quality rose by 1.8% under the arrangement, according to the study published in the journal Pediatrics.
